Handheld RTK GPS or Handheld RTK GPS=Handheld RTK GNSS receiver (often abbreviated as Handheld RTK)
GPS is just a common term, modern devices actually receive multiple system satellites (GPS, Beidou, etc.) GLONASS,Galileo), Industry standard title: Handheld RTK GNSS

1. Noun decomposition
1. Handheld: Handheld, portable, one handed grip, with built-in battery, screen, buttons/touch screen, different from large surveying RTK hosts installed on tripods;
2. GPS: Commonly known by the public, broadly refers to satellite positioning;
3. RTK: Real Time Kinematic real-time dynamic differential positioning
Core technology: By utilizing differential signals from base stations/networks, ordinary meter level positioning can be improved to centimeter level accuracy.

2. The biggest difference between GPS and regular mobile phones
-Mobile ordinary GPS: 3-10 meter error, can only navigate;
-Ordinary handheld GPS (non RTK): 0.5-3 meters error, suitable for outdoor exploration and rough point finding;
-Handheld RTK GPS: 1-5 centimeter plane accuracy, meeting surveying level requirements.

3. Two modes of work
① Network RTK (CORS)
The machine is equipped with an IoT network card, which connects to a local CORS differential server without the need to set up a base station. It can be easily located in centimeters when turned on, and is most commonly used in the field.
② Radio RTK
One is used as a base station, and the other is a handheld mobile station that transmits differential signals through wireless transmission and operates in areas without mobile phone signals.

4. Typical Applications (Industry Scenarios)
-Land ownership confirmation, land boundary mapping, and agricultural and forestry surveying and demarcation
-Power pipeline inspection, geological survey, river survey
-Engineering layout: laying out points, land acquisition boundary lines, and positioning of seedlings
-Water conservancy, natural resources, land survey, unmanned aerial vehicle ground image control point collection

5. Hardware appearance features
-The appearance is similar to a large three proof mobile phone/industrial PDA, with a GNSS antenna protruding from the top (key recognition feature! Ordinary handheld GPS antennas are smaller)
-Support three protections (waterproof, dustproof, and anti fall)
-Supporting surveying and mapping software, or customers can install third-party software and independently develop application software: collecting coordinates, layout, area calculation, exporting CAD data

6. Easy to confuse concept differentiation
1. Ordinary handheld GPS: meter level, without RTK → cannot be used for layout or formal surveying;
2. Controller: It only controls the terminal and does not come with a high-precision antenna, not an RTK host;
3. Handheld RTK: an all-in-one machine that integrates antenna, motherboard, and screen, with built-in RTK positioning capability.

summary
Handheld RTK GPS is an integrated handheld centimeter level satellite positioning terminal that relies on RTK differential technology to achieve centimeter coordinate acquisition and engineering layout. It is widely used in land, agriculture, forestry, and engineering field surveying.
